All of these hotels are iwithin biking distance from the wedding reception (Mission Beach / Pacific Beach)

Pacific Beach / Mission Beach
  Catamaran resort.  (Mission Beach) This is where the action takes place! The Catamaran Resort and Spa is beautifuly decorated with tropical lush gardens and unbeatable ocean and bay view. I'll be honest with you, this is a pricy place, but our guests will benefit from an automatic 15% off rooms for the time of their stay.

   Mission Bay Motels.  (Pacific Beach) Right next door! This very basic motel is located right in the front of the Catamaran Resort. No car needed to get to the reception site. The beach and the bars are right there! Rooms get booked fast, book 6 months in advance! Price  starts at $80.

    The Banana Bungalow.  Don't be fooled by the name. There ain't any bungalows here but a semi-clean hostel right on the sand. You'll get what you pay for!  Wanna meet hippie travelers from all over the world and share a beer wacthing the sunset? This is the place to be. You'll also be sharing the room. This hostel is definitely the cheapest place around with a patio RIGHT ON the beach. Nice if you're running on a tight budget but this will also remind you of your  younger days when sleeping on bunk beds!
Price starts at $22 for one person in a shared room. Possibilty to get a private room for $85.

   Best Western Blue Sea Lodge. (Pacific Beach) Right next to the Catamaran, this Best Western is combining the electric ambiance of the area with the soothing comfort and relaxation of the ocean just steps from the door. Price starts at $179 .

    The Diamnond Inn.  (North Pacific Beach) This basic hotel offers decent rates and is only steps from the beach and minutes away from the Catamaran Resort.  Clean and confortable, many rooms have ocean views. Price starts at: $79

   The Beach Cottages. (Pacific Beach) Just steps away from the Catamaran, get your own cottage by the beach. Rentals are good for the week and up to 6 people for a cottage $210/day or $1260/week or apartments or studios for up to 4pers: $160/day or $960//week.   Also have motel rooms up to 4 people: $90/day or $540/week.

    Beach Haven Inn.  (North Pacific Beach) No ocean view, but only half a block from the beach and minutes away from the Catamaran Resort. Pool and jaccuzi. Price starts at $89.

   Surfer Beach Hotel.  (Pacific Beach) Close to the Catamaran and right on the beach. Price starts at $125.

    Pacific Terrace Hotel (Pacific Beach).  Crazy ocean view pool, this nice hotel offers comfort but is still located close to the craziness of Pacific Beach.  Price starts at $149.

   Pacific Shores Inn.  (North Pacific Beach).  Steps away form the beach, minutes away from the Catamaran. Price starts at $99.

    Capri by th Beach.  (Weekly condo rental). I always hated this ugly building right on the beach, but it does offer crazy ocean view condos for rent for the week. Winter rate may be worth it to check out. Call 1 800 542-2774 for rate information.

La Jolla

La Jolla is a wealthy seaside resort community.
You will enjoy walking the beautiful sandy beaches, spotting nice sports cars and window-shopping at all the expensive jewelery stores, but hotels and resorts in La Jolla can be expensive!  If you like the luxe and the proximity to the ocean you will enjoy your stay in this authentic "jewel" (the spanish translation of La Jolla) by the sea.

If you have money to spend, I'd recommend the La Jolla Shores Hotel and Beach Resort.
    La Jolla Beach Travelodge .  This Travelodge hotel is an awesome deal considering the location. You're a minute walk from the beautiful and world famous surf spot of Windensea Beach and only minutes away from the the ceremony site. Price starts at:  $80 with breakfast included!

Ocean Beach / Point Loma

This is where we live folks!
Once known as the People's Republic of Ocean Beach, OB is a warm beach community stuck in its hippie past.  Some may consider OB as not as clean and pristine as other beach communiies, however ,OB  offers the best of the 60-70s california lifestyle and thus is a perfect destination for backpakers.  Also, you're only minutes from us!

    Ocean Beach International Hostel.  Right on Newport Bld, the busiest street in OB and walking distance form the beach.

Downtown and others
There are many other nice places in SD to stay:  Downtown offers proximity to hundreds of restaurants, bars and clubs but you would to drive to go the beach. (Expedia, Priceline and other hotel reservation websites will show you all famous hotels here.
Hillcrest, Coronado, Del Mar are also chrming places to stay.
Just an example from the cheapest to the most luxurious:
    USA Hostel.   Live the metropolitan lifestyle for nothing! This hostel is located right in the middle of the gaslamp district (5th Ave), the heart of the nightlife and the historical district of downtown and is very popular among young international travelers.

   Hotel Del.  (Coronado) An emblematic figure of San Diego! One of the oldest and most beautiful hotels in california. This (haunted) hotel was the place for numerous films with stars like Marilyn Monoroe. Right on the beach. IF you can't afford the room, you can visit the hotel for free or enjoy their breakfast untill 11am ($) or their famous Sunday brunch ($50) .Rooms start at $255
